About Therapy

Effective psychotherapy methods are implemented to instill a self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and an investment from the patient.
In the end, making small changes to self-defeating thoughts & behaviors as well as learning the tools needed to address feelings of sadness, anger, depression and anxiety can bring life-altering results.

Licensed Professional Counselor

As a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in the Texas Hill Country, I work with individuals and couples (age 21 and older) that are dealing with a wide array of issues. I hold an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Arizona State University and two master’s degrees in Counseling and Addiction from Grand Canyon University.

Prior to working as a professional counselor, I was employed as a health care administrator for more than ten years.  I strongly believe that the combination of my education and experience have provided me with the skills necessary to be a highly effective therapist.

Currently, I devote my time to assisting clients in a private practice setting, where I most frequently see individuals struggling with anxiety, self-esteem issues, depression, trauma, relationship issues, as well as Axis II disorders. I have a warm personal style, with a non-judgmental and compassionate attitude.

My approach as a clinician is integrative, collaborative, and strength-based. It is my belief that each and every client is unique, therefore I attempt to tailor the therapeutic experience to each individual and his or her needs. I strive to collaborate with each client, so that they might realize their values, strengths, and abilities in order to facilitate growth and overcome their problems.

Whether you are hoping to find relief for a problem you are experiencing, or are seeking assistance with your personal growth and development, I can help. I’d be happy to work with you in developing meaningful, positive, and long-lasting change to improve the quality of your life.
